Hey, y'all. I'm Alicia Moore (that's me on the right). As usual, I'm testing the waters a bit, sizing things up before I jump straight on in. Not much as changed in 36 years. Except now, I'm pouring my passion for ink and charcoal and all things wild into Smoke & Ember Designs.
Growing up in the tony neighborhood of Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia, my Mom made sure to pass on her Cajon roots to me and my sister (she's on the left directing tadpoles).
It was the lazy, hazy days of summers spent at my Pops'
sugar cane plantation in Baton Rogue where I fell fast and hard for Mother Nature. There was no AC, only screened porches, so to stay inside was merciless. Outdoors was our only saving grace. That's where I found myself, roaming the property all day long barefoot, looking for frogs in kettle pots, as well as wild rabbits and wandering deer.
Now I have turned my own call of the Southern wild into lasting art. My mission is to capture the soul, the absolute beauty, of every creature, both big and small.
